I am sure you are aware that once you start employing staff your responsibilities increase.
Due to legislative changes over the last few years, our retainer clients that have an on-site visit in their package now benefit from us making sure that they are fully covered in respect of their legal training duties.
However, a lot of our other clients have had to buy in this training from other providers, or have ignored their legal duty which is a huge risk to their business. Those that have bought in external training have told us that in a lot of cases it has not been practical for their size of business and in all cases, it has been too expensive.
We can now offer you an alternative.
It is your legal duty to train your staff in the following topics
o Equal Opportunities
o Anti-Bribery & Corruption Training
o Anti-Slavery Training
o Data Protection Training
You may be thinking that this does not apply to you – it does – let me explain why
Equal Opportunities – if you are challenged by anyone applying for a job, anyone that you currently employ, or anyone that you have employed in the past, that you have breached Equality Laws, you could be reported to the Equalities Commission and then you will be subject to an inspection. If you cannot show that you have trained and informed your staff on this subject, the company will be liable and fines will follow.
Anti-Bribery & Corruption Training – you may be confident that this, as with Anti-Slavery, does not apply to you – it may not but where you could get caught is in the chain you work with – in other words your clients and your suppliers. If one of these were under inspection, then the whole chain would be inspected. If you could not break that chain by proving you have trained and informed your staff you may find yourself being inspected as well.
PLUS – in more and more tendering opportunities, you will be asked to prove that you have complied with the law in these two areas and if you cannot, then you will not be able to tender for certain work.
Anti-Slavery Training – (see above)
Data Protection Training – anyone – staff, clients, suppliers, the public – can ask to see what data you hold on them and any of them could report you to the Information Commissioner’s Office (the government body that ensures the safe use of data). If you were inspected and could not show that you had trained and informed your staff in Data Protection, you would be fined.
It is not worth risking your business when training your staff has never been so easy
Lamont Jones have written fully compliant work books that cover all the above topics.
These can be purchased for £10 per member of staff.
The staff complete the booklets in your own premises under exam conditions and send the work books to us for marking and assessing.
We issue certificates that provide you with the necessary proof of the training if you are inspected, as well as making sure that your staff are working within the law and protecting your business.
If you would like to order any of these work books, simply email email@example.com stating how many booklets you would like to purchase and the names of the staff who will undertake the training.
The booklets will be sent to you with full instructions for you to administer and facilitate each training session.
